Motivate Me is a motivational quote, widget, and wallpaper app developed by Amy Zhao (“we,” “us,” or “the developer”).
This Privacy Policy explains how Motivate Me handles information when you use the app.
Motivate Me is designed to work offline on your iPhone.
Your preferences, quote history, favorites, reminder settings, and any photo you choose as a background are stored on your device. When needed, that information is also shared locally with the Motivate Me widgets on the same iPhone.
Motivate Me may store information locally so the app and its widgets can work. This may include:
This information stays on your iPhone in the app’s on-device storage (including storage shared with Motivate Me widgets).
We do not upload this information anywhere.
If you use Apple backup features (for example iCloud Backup or a computer backup), Apple may include app data in those backups based on your device settings and Apple’s policies. Motivate Me does not control Apple’s backup systems.
Motivate Me may let you choose an image from your Photos library to use as a background. Selection uses Apple’s photo picker. The app only gets the image you choose — not access to your whole library just to pick one photo.
Motivate Me may ask for permission to save a wallpaper you create to your Photo Library. That save happens on your device.
Selected photos and generated wallpapers are processed locally on your device. Motivate Me does not send them off the phone to analyze them, and we don’t sell them.
You can decline Photos permissions. Features that need selecting or saving an image may not work without them.
Important: Wallpapers you save to Photos are separate from the app. Deleting Motivate Me does not delete those saved images.
If you turn on the optional daily reminder, Motivate Me may ask for permission to show notifications on your device (for example: “Your quote is ready”).
Motivate Me may share limited information with its widgets — such as the current quote and display preferences — so widgets can show today’s quote.
This happens locally on your device.
Motivate Me does not include third-party analytics, ads, or advertising trackers.
The app does not track your activity across other companies’ apps or websites to build an advertising profile about you.
Motivate Me is distributed through Apple’s App Store and uses Apple system features (for example notifications, Photos, and widgets).
Apple may collect or process information related to App Store downloads, device services, backups, crash or diagnostic data you choose to share with Apple, or other Apple services. That is covered by Apple’s privacy policy. Motivate Me does not control what Apple collects on its own.
Motivate Me does not sell, rent, or share personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies.
Information stored by Motivate Me stays on your device until you:
Deleting the app removes Motivate Me’s locally stored data for that install, subject to your device and backup settings.
Resetting app data inside Motivate Me clears preferences, quote history, favorites, reminder settings, and the app’s copy of a custom background photo. It does not delete wallpapers already saved to Photos.
Motivate Me does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or as defined by applicable law).
The app does not require an account, does not ask for a child’s name or email address, and does not send user information anywhere.
Motivate Me does not keep a user database anywhere.
Information stored on your device is protected by your iPhone’s security features (for example passcode, Face ID / Touch ID, and system storage protections). No device can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Motivate Me stores information on the device where the app is installed. Your content isn’t moved to other countries by us for processing.
We may update this Privacy Policy if Motivate Me’s features or data practices change.
Updated versions will be published here with a revised Last Updated date. When appropriate, material changes may also be noted in the app or App Store listing.
